Teamsters Local 710 Memo Regarding the UPS DVSP
MEMORANDUM
Date: July 16, 2025
To: Local 710 UPS Full Time Drivers and Feeders
From: Executive Board of Teamsters Local 710
Re: Driver Voluntary Separation Program
Teamsters Local 710 has been in communication with UPS regarding the Driver Voluntary Separation Program (“DVSP”) for full time drivers and feeders. The Local is not approving this “buy-out” because the Company refuses to confirm if this Program will be done by seniority within our jurisdiction, and they cannot tell us the specific number they plan to offer this buy-out to. With no agreement between the Local and UPS, the DVSP is in direct violation of Article 27 of our contract and unfair to all our members.
The Local has filed an Agent’s protest on this matter, as well as sent a letter to UPS explaining the contract violation and notifying them that we are prepared to take all legal action necessary, including arbitration. We have demanded written assurance that they will not implement the DVSP within 710’s jurisdiction and respond to our grievance by 5:00 pm CT tomorrow.
We will keep the membership informed as we receive further information.
