Program Information

The Executive Board of Teamsters Local 710 has established this Scholarship Fund to help dependent children of our members pursue their passions of study or craft. We believe that an investment in our children is an investment in the future of labor.

We know the stress the financial obligations for these programs can pose, so we are happy to be able to assist the children of our members with these costs. We are proud to award scholarships providing one-time awards valued up to $7,000.00.

The essay topic for 2023 is:

The Labor Movement has seen some significant momentum in the last couple of years. Recent polling shows that the approval of Labor Unions is at its highest point since 1965 at 71%. In 2022, Unions won over three-quarters of elections and Union representation increased around 200,000. Still, employers are exhausting the Union-busting playbook, doing whatever they can to discourage employees from Unionizing – including increasing wages and improving some benefits. Why do you think it’s still important to continue the momentum of Union growth, and how would you convince non-Union workers to organize?
