Program Information
The Executive Board of Teamsters Local 710 has established this Scholarship Fund to help dependent children of our members pursue their passions of study or craft. We believe that an investment in our children is an investment in the future of labor.
We know the stress the financial obligations for these programs can pose, so we are happy to be able to assist the children of our members with these costs. We are proud to award scholarships providing one-time awards valued up to $7,000.00.

The essay topic for 2026 is:
The rise of artificial intelligence and automation is a major threat to the working class. Corporations are pushing more and more for new technologies marketed as enhancing or improving working conditions, when very often these technologies are designed to replace workers and shrink their bottom line, with little-to-no consideration for the actual people behind those jobs. Unions like the Teamsters are fighting back, pushing for worker protections through legislation and negotiating contractual language. Why do you think it’s important to combat and regulate the use of AI and automation, particularly as it pertains to the working class?
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE USE OF AI (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CHAT GPT, ETC.) TO PRODUCE YOUR ESSAY IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. ANY VIOLATION WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM RECEIVING A SCHOLARSHIP.
