Re: UPS Center Closures

Teamsters Local 710 has just been informed by UPS Labor that UPS is planning on closing several buildings in Indiana, including three within Local 710’s jurisdiction. While no definitive date has been set, closures may begin in late May, according to UPS Labor. The Indiana buildings in Local 710 are Bourbon, Crawfordsville, and Washington. Local 710 will be working out all the details over the coming weeks to keep our members working and fight for every member’s job. The language in our Local 710 Contract for opening and closing of centers can be found in Article 8, Section 4:

Section 4. Opening and Closing of Center
Whenever an operating Center is opened or closed, the Employees affected shall be entitled to follow the work and their company seniority shall be dovetailed in the new operating Center.
