Re: UPS Center Closure Rumors

Teamsters Local 710 has been made aware of multiple rumors of UPS closing certain Centers within Local 710’s jurisdiction and around the country. To be clear, these are purely rumors at this time, and no formal confirmation has been made regarding any Centers in particular.

While the Company has reported that they plan to close some Centers, they have not announced which ones, nor a timeline. Local 710 is staying in close contact with the UPS Director of Labor, and the Company is responsible for notifying the Union if they plan to close any Center. We are also working closely with other UPS Locals, the IBT, and our legal team to ensure that we are getting accurate information as it is announced.

Let us be clear: We are monitoring this situation extremely closely and will continue to do so. Once we receive concrete information from UPS, we will notify the members and ensure that our contract is enforced.
