Teamsters Local 710 Travels to 2024 Women’s Conference
Members, Staff Attend Informative Workshops and Seminars

SAN JUAN, PR | Teamsters Local 710 members and staff gathered together with more than 1,600 Teamsters last month at the Women’s Conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Attendees went to daily workshops and classes to learn about important topics including Steward training, collective bargaining, mental health, and organizing, as well as training for Union staff regarding updates to the TITAN dues system and other policies and procedures.
“This is such an incredible event to join together with our Sisters and Brothers from around the entire country to share our experiences and shed light on what we as women and Teamsters face day in and day out on the job,” said Local 710 Trustee and UPS Package Car Driver Jocelyn Turner. “It is truly empowering and inspiring, and I am proud that our Local 710 team can return home with new knowledge that will help us better represent our membership.”
Members also heard from guest speakers and attended roundtable discussions regarding a variety of topics including the ongoing organizing of administrative and specialist workers at UPS, as well as what workers at Amazon and DHL are going through as they fight to organize as well.
“The workshops I attended were so informative, and I’ll be able to apply everything I learned to strengthen my role as a steward,” said Carl Buddig Steward Leslie Martin. “I’m thrilled to have had this opportunity to spend time with my fellow members and learn about everyone else’s experiences.”
