Obituary
Nicholas Albert Puccetti, 20, of Tovey, Illinois, passed away Friday, March 1, 2024, at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born April 18, 2003, in Springfield, the son of Mark A. and Kristin L. Howard Puccetti. Nick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Margaret Puccetti; his maternal grandfather, Richard Howard; and his great-grandparents.
Nick was of the Catholic faith. He graduated from Little Flower Catholic Grade School (LFS) in 2017. As a student at LFS, Nick played basketball and baseball and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 202. He then attended Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, where he lettered in wrestling during his freshman year. He later attended South Fork High School in Kincaid.
Nick was a member of Teamsters Local 710 and worked as a preloader at UPS in Springfield. He also worked at Krekel’s in Pawnee. Nick was lovingly known by his friends and family as someone who loved to clown around and play pranks. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved his dog, Biscuit. He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Nick was also a registered organ donor with Gift of Hope Organ and Tissue Donor Network.
Nick is survived by his parents, Mark and Kristin Puccetti, of Tovey; one brother, Jacob Puccetti, of Tovey; and his grandmother, Patricia Howard, of Kincaid.
Cremation rites will be accorded. No services are planned.
