The Union Committee met Monday to finalize initial proposals, and both the Union and the Company have been exchanging proposals beginning yesterday.

“We’ve been having a lot of great discussions with our committee and have crafted proposals to our Work Rules that address the issues our members face day in and day out,” said Local 710 President & Bargaining Chairman Del Schaefer. “We’re hoping to start making some progress early, but we do have a long road ahead of us between the Work Rules and the main contract.”

The rank-and-file bargaining committee for the Work Rules consists of the following Feeder Stewards:

Thomas Fullmer, Addison
Travis Breeden, CACH
Jose Falcon, CACH
Ken Gesbeck, CACH
James Murphy, CACH
Timothy Wear, Davenport
Dan Jedlicka, Decatur
Archie Brown, Jeff St.
Matt Tripp, Palatine

Bargaining for the main contract will begin at a later date. Teamsters Local 710 has a white paper UPS agreement that is separate from the National UPS agreement that covers more than 7,000 members throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa.
