Local 710 Kicks Off ABF Proposals
Teamsters National Agreement Expires June 30, 2023

MOKENA, IL | Teamsters Local 710 officially kicked off proposals for the upcoming ABF National Master Freight contract negotiations by hosting a meeting with the members last Sunday at the Union Hall. 115 dock workers, spotters, and drivers gathered to discuss the issues and start drafting proposals to submit to the IBT.
“It was great seeing so many members come out to our meeting to talk about what they want to see in this next contract,” said Secretary-Treasurer Mike Cales. “We all know how strong 710 members are, so I know we as Teamsters will hold this employer’s feet to the fire to get a contract all ABF members will benefit from and be proud of.”
Business Agent Phil Reams was joined by Stewards Dan Beyer, Packy Comiskey, Joey Nitz, Mike Plovanic, Clayton Simpson, and Phil Wallerich to lead the dock meeting. Business Agent Mike Halvorson was joined by Stewards Phil Cicero, Ron Hogue, Jeff Scriff, and Tim White to lead the road meeting.
The ABF National Master Freight Agreement covers thousands of members across the country. The IBT Freight Director John Murphy & Assistant Director Danny Avelyn and other Teamster freight representatives have also begun touring ABF barns and gear up for negotiations as well.
All proposal forms should be submitted to Business Agent Phil Reams or Mike Halvorson as soon as possible. Local 710 will be submitting all our members’ proposals to the IBT by November 21.
Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, providing strong Union representation to more than 14,000 members across the midwest.
