MOKENA, IL | Teamsters Local 710 is going strong in its UPS Tour to collect proposals and discuss the upcoming 2023 contract negotiations at each of its 45 UPS buildings.

“We’re about halfway through our tour, and the response has been really great,” said President Del Schaefer. “Our members are extremely engaged and passionate about what they’d like to see improved in our next contract, and we’re growing stronger and stronger for it.”

The remainder of the proposal tour is scheduled through August and September, but members are encouraged to talk to their Business Agents and Stewards any time about proposals they’d like to see in next year’s negotiations.

“Come talk to us, always,” said Schaefer. “Your agents are still coming out to your buildings regularly, but you can also call or email us if you’d like to discuss proposals. Even if you think someone else will propose something you’re thinking about, still write down that proposal. Still talk to us. We want to hear from everyone about what is important to you- what will impact your wellbeing in the workplace and back home.”

Local 710 has its own collective bargaining agreement with UPS that is separate from the National agreement that covers more than 6,500 Teamsters throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. Both 710’s and the National agreements expire July 31, 2023.

Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, providing strong Union representation to more than 13,500 members across the Midwest.
