FRANKLIN PARK, IL | Teamsters Local 710 conducted a strike authorization vote yesterday for the Jewel Warehouse and Transportation bargaining units. There was a great turnout with a majority of the workforce stopping by to cast their vote. The results were nearly unanimous: Approximately 98% from both bargaining units voted in favor of authorizing a strike if necessary.

Warehouse: 414 votes cast
404 YES to 10 NO

Transportation: 164 votes cast
161 YES to 3 NO

The vote took place at a large hall to allow for social distancing about 10 minutes from the Jewel Distribution Center in Melrose Park, Ill. from 6:30 am to 5:30 pm. Members of the Bargaining Committee and representatives from Local 710 were on site all day to assist and answer questions.

Bargaining is scheduled to resume Friday, February 26, 2021.
