Local 710 Trustee Mike Sanchez Achieves Circle of Honor

UPS Davenport Teamster Recognized for 25 Years Safe Driving

DAVENPORT, IA | Teamsters Local 710 would like to congratulate Brother Mike Sanchez who was recently recognized for 25 years of safe driving and inducted into the UPS Circle of Honor.

Brother Sanchez has been a member of Local 710 for 34 years and currently works as a Package Car Driver out of the Davenport, Iowa facility, where he has been an elected steward for the past 10 years. He also serves as an elected Trustee of the Local, and is actively involved as an IBT Political Field Organizer and member of the Chicago Teamsters Hispanic Caucus.

“Reaching Circle of Honor status is no easy feat,” said Local 710 President Del Schaefer. “It takes serious dedication to your craft all while navigating through hazardous road conditions and distracted drivers. It’s always a great day when we can celebrate another safe driver. I feel especially honored to celebrate this achievement with Mike, who is not only my Teamster brother, but a great friend as well. Congratulations, brother!”

UPS awards the Circle of Honor to drivers who have reached 25 years of driving without an avoidable accident. Drivers receive a patch to wear on their uniform, which is updated for every five years worth of safe driving thereafter.

Brother Sanchez and his wife of 28 years, Christina, have two sons, Emilio and Brandon, and a daughter, Jordan. Both Brandon and Jordan are also Local 710 members at UPS. Mike is also a proud grandfather to Milah and Kinsley and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
