Local 710 Remembers Brother Malcom Lehman
January 14, 1950 - June 19, 2020
Teamsters Local 710 is deeply saddened by the loss of Malcolm Lehman. Brother Lehman was a UPS driver in Fort Wayne for more than three decades before retiring. He was a dedicated Teamster who always believed in the union and the strength and protection that comes from it. We ask that you all keep Brother Lehman, his family, and friends in your warmest thoughts and prayers.
Obituary
Malcom W. Lehman, 70, of Berne, Indiana passed away on June 19, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family following a complicated illness.
He was born on January 14, 1950 in Decatur, Indiana to the late Peter P. Lehman and the late Lydia (Garber) Lehman.
Malcom retired following 34 years of exemplary service with UPS in Fort Wayne as a driver – a great source of pride for him. Following his retirement, he worked at Poplar Quik Stop in Berne for 12 years. He was a 1968 graduate of South Adams High School in Berne where he was the manager of the football, basketball, and baseball teams. Following his graduation, he graduated with an Associate Degree in Electronics from what is now known as Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne.
He was a member of Teamsters Local 710.
Being involved with his family was very important to Malcom. He provided a safe haven for his children along with his grandchildren by supporting them in their activities throughout their lives. He was a constant supporter and critic in those activities. Camping was an important family gathering time for him. Many holidays and vacations were spent in campgrounds, with Malcom as the supervisor.
Survivors include his two sons, Jeff (Alyse) Lehman & Joseph Lehman; three daughters, Julie (Robert) Buuck, Jodi (Aaron) Sluder & Jeanene Lehman; three sisters, Carol Lehman, Sandy (Charles) Fowler, & Gail Lengerich; two brothers, Gaylord Lehman & Olin Lehman; seven grandchildren, Gregg Buuck, Paxton Lehman, Emma Buuck, Madison Lehman, Camden Sluder, Cortland Sluder, & Bristol Lehman.
