Congratulations to Eagle Scout Jack Flanagan

Son of Tom Flanagan, 26-Year Local 710 Teamster at Pacific Rail

Teamsters Local 710 would like to congratulate John “Jack” R. Flanagan, son of Local 710 member Tom Flanagan, on his completion the rank of Eagle Scout of Scouts BSA Troop 32 in Berwyn.

Brother Tom Flanagan has been a member of the Local for 26 years and works for Pacific Rail at the CSX ramp in Bedford Park.

In the picture are Jack’s parents, Tom and Jennifer. Jennifer is also an Assistant Scoutmaster for the Troop.

During his time in scouts, Jack has held several leadership positions including scribe, troop musician, assistant senior patrol leader, and senior patrol leader.

His Eagle project was refurbishing the convent at St. Leonard Parish in Berwyn so that the parish community could benefit from the substantial space of this building. With the assistance of a group of scouts and leaders, the walls were scraped of peeling paint, holes were repaired, and rooms were painted. In addition, plumbing in one bathroom was repaired and a window was replaced. The convent rooms were cleaned and ready for use by the parish.

Jack currently attends Lockport Township High School and will be graduating in June. Upon graduation, he will attend Joliet Junior College where he plans to study fire science.
