Notice Regarding Unofficial UPS Meeting on April 23, 2017
TO BE POSTED AT ALL UPS LOCATIONS IN THE JURISDICTION OF LOCAL 710
Re: Unofficial UPS Meeting on April 23, 2017
Dear Brother and Sister Members,
It has come to my attention that false information was circulated through a flyer regarding a meeting for UPS members this Sunday, April 23, 2017, using the official International Brotherhood of Teamsters insignia of the horseheads, Thunder and Lightning. This flyer made it appear that the meeting was set up by and run by Teamsters Local 710 or the International in Washington, DC.
UPS members are advised that this meeting IS NOT an official Union meeting set up by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Union in Washington, DC, nor Teamsters Local 710.
Use of the Teamsters trademarked insignia without authorization through the Trademark License Agreement with the IBT is a violation. Additionally, making it appear that Teamsters Local 710 sent this flyer out in an official capacity is a further violation.
Should anyone have any questions, please reach out to your Business Agent or call the Union Hall.
Fraternally,
Thomas N. Conelias
Intl Field Representative/Local 710
