Teamsters Local 710 Secures More Than $121,000 for Member in Arbitration Win
AWC TLX Teamster Returns to Work After Being Unfairly Discharged
A Teamsters Local 710 member at AWC TLX recently returned to work with full back pay totaling $121,339.44 after being unfairly discharged nearly 16 months ago.
The arbitration for the wrongful termination case was held last September, and the final ruling in favor of the Union was received at the end of January. The six-figure award includes all back pay, benefits, bonuses, and missed overtime.
Local 710 Business Agent Anthony Lamy reviewed the grievance after it was brought to his attention by counsel for the local and successfully pursued it.
This is an incredible win for Local 710. Anthony’s dedication to protect our member’s rights shows the true strength of the Teamsters Union and, under the shadow of a potential national right to work law, the importance of organized labor as a whole.
