In addition to the James R. Hoffa Memorial Fund 2016-2016 Academic Year Scholarships, TNBC Chicago and the Chicago Federation of Labor also offer scholarships for dependent children of active Teamster members.
William A. Lee Memorial Scholarship
The CFL will award ten William A. Lee Memorial Scholarships valued at $2,000 each. Five of these awards are based on academic merit, and five are based on a random drawing.
- The applicant must be a senior in high school and graduating in the spring of 2016.
- Either the applicant or the applicant’s parent must be a member in good standing of a CFL-affiliated union. To confirm a union’s affiliation status, please call 312.222.1000.
- The applicant must choose to enter either the Academic Competition or Random Drawing for the William A. Lee Memorial Scholarship. Applicants attempting to enter both categories will be disqualified.
Applications are due Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Applications may also be dropped off at the Chicago Federation of Labor at 130 E. Randolph Street, Suite 2600, in Chicago. If mailing, applications must be postmarked by Monday, February 29, 2016.

TNBC Chicago Chapter Scholarships
TNBC Chicago is offering two scholarships: William Peeples Memorial Scholarship and the Ted Mullins College Scholarship.
Both scholarships are available to all dependent children (including adopted children) of any member in good standing of the TNBC Chicago Chapter. Applications are due by Saturday, April 9, 2016.
Those interested must complete an application, providing academic information, submitting an essay and attending a counseling session with the TNBC Chicago Chapter Scholarship Committee. Applicants must be enrolled in an educational program and have a grade point average of at least 2.6 to qualify.
