Local 710 Gets Translogix Rail Crew Member Back to Work After Eight Months
Teamsters Overturn Termination at Arbitration, Win Full Back Pay
A Teamsters Local 710 rail crew member at Translogix recently returned to work and was made whole after being wrongfully terminated for eight months.
The arbitrator settled the grievance in favor of the union, determining that Translogix failed to prove any wrongdoing by the member that resulted in the member’s unjustly termination. Local 710 Business Agent Paul Hawkins and union representatives fought hard to win the member’s reinstatement with full back pay.
This is an important win not only for our member, but for all Teamsters at Translogix. It protects our members by strongly impacting the way the company needs to handle discipline moving forward and improving fairness in the workplace.
