Jewel Negotiations Beginning Soon
Local 710 Prepares for Bargaining of New Teamster Contracts
The Teamsters Local 710 team is gearing up to begin preparations for negotiation of both the Jewel Fresh Food Center and Jewel Distribution contracts.
Local 710 Jewel Teamsters are encouraged to complete a Contract Proposal Form and mail it to the union hall or give it to their steward or Business Agent. Proposals will be discussed at an upcoming meeting of the Jewel Stewards. Negotiations are slated to begin in December.
In order to increase representation, Jewel Business Agents Roger Kelley and Demetrius M. Morton, Sr. have added two Local 710 Agents to their bargaining team: Anthony Lamy and Mike McElmury.
“Beginning Negotiation preparations now will be key in presenting a strong, united front,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “We will be able to ensure that our members’ voices are heard loud & clear as our team heads to the bargaining table.”
The current four-year agreements covering nearly 250 drivers and nearly 700 warehouse workers are set to expire in March 2016.
Any questions may be directed to the Local 710 Jewel Business Agents.
