Chicago Teamsters at ChemTrade Ratify New Contract

Local 710 Establishes Job Enhancement Program, Better Wages

Teamsters Local 710 members at ChemTrade Logistics recently ratified a new four-year agreement, securing increased pay in two individual ways.

Business Agent Mick Vendafreddo and Union Steward Antonio Lungaro led negotiations to reach a strong agreement with ChemTrade. Teamsters will receive wage increases of 11.5 percent over the length of the contract. Local 710 also negotiated the institution of a Job Enhancement Program (JEP) to generate additional pay increases. To take advantage, drivers will go through different levels of training programs to earn additional pay alongside their contractual wage increases.

“The Job Enhancement Program is a great addition to this strong Teamster contract,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “Our hardworking members who already strive for excellence at their jobs will now have a new opportunity to be rewarded as they continue to grow in their careers.”

The Teamster-represented operators at ChemTrade handle the safe loading and unloading of hazardous chemicals and other logistic responsibilities.

Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, America’s premier labor union for Chicago, Illinois and northwest Indiana.
