The Teamsters Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee will host its Third Annual Health Fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Teamsters Local 743, 4620 S. Tripp Ave., Chicago, IL.
The free event will feature informational booths, speakers and activities related to health, wellness, fitness and nutrition. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and prizes will be raffled.
“It is important to educate our members and their families so that they may live longer, healthier lives,” said John T. Coli, President of Joint Council 25 and Trustee of Local
710. “The Women’s Committee is furthering that commitment, and we encourage everyone to participate.”
The Health Fair is free to all Teamster members and their families. Children under 12 will not be permitted to attend.
Featured speakers include State Rep. Kelly Cassidy, Andrea Harkleroad of Employee Resource Systems, and breast cancer survivor and Local 700 member Valerie Berry. Representatives from the American Cancer Society also will speak about their organization and the upcoming Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walks, in which the Women’s Committee will participate.
Teamsters Local 727-represented Osco pharmacists will be on hand to administer flu shots, with the first 50 paid for by the Women’s Committee.
