Teamsters Local 710 Settles Six Member Reinstatements at Panels

UPS Freight Business Agent Mike Lonero Successfully Resolves Grievances

The Teamsters Local 710 Business Agents have been working diligently to process and win grievances brought to panel and arbitration. Notably, six termination grievances from Local 710 UPS Freight members have been processed recently, and all of them have been won at panel.

As one of the newest additions to the Local 710 freight team, Business Agent Mike Lonero has been successfully chipping away at the UPS Freight grievances which include several pay claims and discharges. At the Central Region UPS Freight Grievance Panels held on August 17 and 18 alone, one particular member filed a grievance to be reinstated with full seniority and back pay after being unjustly discharged. The arbitrator ruled in favor of the union with the member being reinstated and made whole.

“It’s wonderful to see a new agent connect with the members as successfully as Mike has,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “He is doing a great job representing our hardworking members at UPS Freight, and the Teamsters Union is proud of the example he makes of what it means to be a dedicated Business Agent.”

Lonero has a strong team of UPS Freight stewards that are able to provide the support needed to make grievances panels as successful as possible for the union. “The UPS Freight Stewards know their contract well, and they truly work hard with me to help represent our members,” said Lonero. “I’m glad to have their support.”

The next grievance panels for UPS Freight are scheduled in October and November.

Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, America’s premier labor union for Chicago, Illinois and Indiana.
