The latest contract expired March 31, and an extension agreement is in place through September. The provisions of a new contract, after ratification, will be retroactive to March 31, 2015.
The union’s bargaining committee of seven rank-and-file members, representatives and attorneys has been addressing several economic issues to begin negotiations. The bargaining committee includes:
- Larry Alexander, Holland
- Linda Karpiesz, YRCW
- JoAnne Lizak, Holland
- Lugene Matthis, YRCW
- Timothy Nordmeyer, Holland
- Yvette Perkins, YRCW

Negotiations will continue July 13-14 at the Local 710 Union Hall in Mokena. Members will be updated as bargaining progresses. Anyone with outstanding issues or questions should direct them to members of the bargaining committee or Local 710 Business Agents Paul Hawkins and Chuck DeCola.
