Back Pay Checks Coming for Local 710 UPS Members

Most Members to Receive Money Owed No Later Than April 17

Thousands of UPS workers represented by Teamsters Local 710 will be receiving substantial back pay checks as part of their newly ratified five-year contract.

Checks for most Local 710 UPS members who are owed outstanding wages were being issued and mailed to workers from the company starting earlier this month. Members receiving back pay can expect to get their checks no later than Friday, April 17. As negotiated by Local 710 representatives and the Teamsters bargaining committee of 18 rank-and-file members, the new UPS contract guarantees wage increases for the membership of more than 6,000 full- and part-time workers.

Members overwhelmingly ratified the agreement on February 19. The back pay calculated from the contractual wage increases is retroactive to July 31, 2013.

“As the new UPS contract goes into effect, Local 710 is excited for our members to finally receive the wages and benefits they’ve worked for, fought for and rightfully deserve,” said Ron Dillon, Local 710 UPS business agent. “The current collective bargaining agreement will pay dividends for hardworking UPS Teamsters for years to come, and the receipt of these outstanding checks allows all of us to start this new agreement off on the right foot.”

Local 710 UPS members who are entitled to back pay and do not receive their checks by April 17 should contact the Local 710 union hall for assistance at (773) 254-3200.
