After just three sessions at the bargaining table, Teamsters Local 710 secured a strong new contract for 28 workers at Mondelez in Addison, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.

The four-year agreement includes wage increases of 50 cents per hour for all Teamsters at the food company that makes Kraft products and Nabisco cookies and crackers. The Local 710 members, who all work as delivery drivers, overwhelmingly ratified the new contract on August 2.

“This is a fair contract that really respects and rewards hardworking Teamsters at Mondelez,” said Gary Abraham, Local 710 Business Agent. “Our members stuck together at the bargaining table to ensure we were able to negotiate a good agreement, and the company worked with the union to get the best deal possible as soon as possible for both sides.”

In addition to higher wages, the agreement includes a reduced co-pay for workers for health and welfare coverage, as well as continued contributions to a company-sponsored retirement plan. The contract expires on July 31, 2018.

The Teamsters have proudly represented drivers with Nabisco and Mondelez in Chicago for more than 13 years.

Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, America’s premier labor union for Chicago, Illinois and northwest Indiana.
