Teamsters Local 710 Secures Historic Tentative Agreement with Jewel-Osco
Warehouse and Transportation Committees Hold Firm, Achieve Major Gains for All Members

MOKENA, IL | After a full week’s worth of marathon bargaining sessions that continued through the weekend, the Teamsters Local 710 Bargaining Committees for Jewel-Osco Warehouse and Transportation both secured unprecedented tentative agreements with unanimous endorsements by both committees.
“Our bargaining team stood strong together and fought hard to win phenomenal improvements in both of our contracts that will have a tremendous impact on our members and their families,” said Secretary-Treasurer Mike Cales. “Our Jewel committeemen did a fantastic job holding their employer accountable, securing workplace protections and benefits that respect and honor the incredible jobs they do that keep our local grocery stores thriving. I also want to thank our 710 representatives on our team – Dick Bartolo, Keith Kazluski, and Mike Ramirez – for bringing all of their experience to the table to leave no stone unturned. We are also fortunate to have been backed by the fierce legal counsel of Willig, Williams, and Davidson attorneys Stuart Davidson and Jordan Konell. We are all proud to bring these agreements to the members for their vote.”
Both agreements won incredible gains, including:
- Unprecedented wage increases
- Freezing of healthcare plans – including all premiums, deductibles, and co-pays, as well as parameters of the plans themselves – for the next five years, giving members peace of mind for their families
- Improvements to paid time off
- Vacation schedule improvements
- Protections regarding new technology
- Strengthened language throughout the entire contract
- Dramatic improvements to new hire rates
- Retroactivity of all wage increases back to March 9, 2026
The parties are meticulously working through the complete final documents, which must be reviewed and approved by the IBT Warehouse Division and Joint Council 25 before bringing this to a vote by the membership. Local 710 is aiming to have meetings at the complex this week with 710 representatives and the Bargaining Committee available to review all changes to the contracts with the rank and file. All members will be able to review the complete redline contracts and have the opportunity to ask questions ahead of voting.
Teamsters Local 710 represents more than 900 warehouse workers, drivers, and dispatchers at Jewel-Osco, a subsidiary of Albertson’s. The distribution workers deliver products to more than 180+ Jewel-Osco grocery stores throughout the greater Chicagoland area.
