Local 710 UPS Grievance Update: Summer 2025
Teamsters Secure More Than $400k at Last Three Panels, Big Reinstatement Wins
MOKENA, IL | The Teamsters Local 710 team has continued stacking up the wins at the monthly UPS grievance panel hearings, securing $404,236.27 back in the members’ pockets at the last three panels.
“We are processing an unprecedented number of grievances, and winning big every month at panel,” said 710 Vice President Neil McKinney. “Our success doesn’t just come from the fact that for some reason, this company likes to violate our contract, but it’s also because of the education of our members who know their contract. Backed by our strong team of Stewards who showed up in force at our annual Stewards Training, our members are standing up to UPS every single day with every single grievance filed.”

Highlight: Preston Royer
Brother Preston Royer is a 13-year Package Car Driver at UPS Belleville. He was wrongfully terminated in June for what the Company claimed was dishonesty.
“This case should not have made it all the way to panel, but this company is showing a pattern of using ‘dishonesty’ as a catch-all reason to discharge our members,” said 710 President Del Schaefer. “It’s a scapegoat because they are trying to find any way they can to try and get rid of hard-working, dedicated employees – and they are resorting to desperate measures to do so. What UPS called ‘dishonesty’ in Preston’s case could not be backed up in the slightest way, and 710 doesn’t tolerate this nonsense. “
The Local 710 team got Brother Royer’s job back and secured more than $12,000.00 in back pay and benefits for him as well.
“I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Del and my Business Agent Marjock Fenner, as well as my Stewards Joe Barger and Donny Carpenter, and the entire Brotherhood of Local 710 for standing by me,” said Royer. “Your unwavering support and determination to push forward on my behalf made all the difference. Because of your efforts, I’ve been granted my due process and full restitution regarding the wrongful termination by the company. I’m truly grateful to be part of such a strong and united union.”
