Brother Larry Mullins Retires After 42+ Years at UPS

42-Year Circle of Honor Jeff Street Feeder Driver, 25-Year Steward

I’m proud to be a Teamster. The representation that one gets as a Teamster is unbeatable. Looking out for each other, taking care of new members – all these things make me proud to be a Teamster.

CHICAGO, IL – Brother Larry Mullins has an impressive tenure as a UPS Teamster. He was a Feeder Driver out of the Jeff Street facility in downtown Chicago for 42 years and nine months, served as a Shop Steward for 25 years, and is a 42-year UPS Circle of Honor member for safe driving. And now, he’s happily enjoying his well-earned retirement.

“Being in the Circle of Honor is always a prestigious accomplishment, but to maintain that designation for as long as Larry has is truly impressive” said Secretary-Treasurer Mike Cales. “Not only has he held that for his entire tenure at UPS, he did so while driving in the fast-paced and often dangerous downtown traffic. He’s definitely an inspiration and clear role model to all our drivers. Larry exemplifies what it means to be a Teamster and a dedicated Union member. On behalf of everyone at the hall, I wish Larry nothing but the best on his retirement.”

Larry is also a proud, 35+ year member of the Chicago Chapter of the Teamsters National Black Caucus, having served as Treasurer and currently the Recording Secretary for the Chicago Chapter. He’s an extremely familiar face at Local 710 meetings and is very involved in the Local.

“I’m proud to be a Teamster,” said Larry. “The representation that one gets as a Teamster is unbeatable. Looking out for each other, taking care of new members – all these things make me proud to be a Teamster.”
