Brother Phil Reams Joins Local 710 Team of Representatives

Freight Teamster to Serve as “Lost Timer” to Increase Representation

Teamsters Local 710 welcomes Brother Phil Reams to the team of representatives at the hall.

Reams, who is a dockworker and steward at ABF in Sauk Village, Ill., will work as a “Lost Timer,” acting in the capacity of a Business Agent of the Local and support the existing agents at the hall. “Lost Timers” are members that work for the hall and are paid what they would be entitled to if they working for their employer, similar to how any member would be compensated for union business when not at work.

With the retirement of one Business Agent and the temporary leave of another, the Local used the most cost-effective way to maintain high levels of representation.

The use of Lost Timers will save the local money and resources while continuing to provide the best quality of service to the members. Phil will be a great asset to the members with his high level of experience as a Teamster and dedication to Local 710.
