Jewel Negotiations Updates During February 26 Session

Company formally rejects the Union’s proposal for Interest Arbitration.

At Jewel negotiations today, the Company presented the following proposals at 1:42 p.m.

At the end of the last Jewel bargaining session, the Local 710 Bargaining Committee proposed to the Company that both sides move to Interest Arbitration.
In Interest Arbitration, both the Union and the Company submit their own last, best and final offer to an arbitrator, who then chooses one offer or the other.
To clarify, the decision to go to Interest Arbitration must be by a membership vote. Mr. Coli has reaffirmed there will be no contract without a vote of the membership.
