2016 Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee Scholarship Applications Available Now
Women's Committee Members Must Apply Before February 5, 2016
The Teamsters Joint Council 25 Women’s Committee scholarship program is aimed at assisting Teamsters who are continuing their education. The Women’s Committee will award five $1,000 scholarships to members who demonstrate a desire to excel and reach their education goals.
All applicants must be Women’s Committee members and Teamster members in good standing and must be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate college, university or community college program, graduate school or technical or vocational program. Women and men are eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must submit an essay on the topic: “Based on your personal experience as a Teamster member, what would you say to persuade a non-union worker to join the Teamsters?”
Completed applications and essays must be forwarded to the applicant’s local union for verification of Teamster membership, and the local union will submit the paperwork to the Women’s Committee. The deadline for applications is Feb. 5, 2016.
Scholarship recipients will be honored the Women’s Committee’s Fourth Annual Gala Dinner Dance on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at the Penthouse Ballroom of the Holiday Inn Express Chicago O’Hare in Rosemont.
