Meat delivery drivers in Bolingbrook who service all of northern Illinois for Armour-Eckrich voted overwhelmingly to join Teamsters Local 710.
The company ran an extremely aggressive anti-union campaign. Several Local 710 Business Agents and representatives visited the drivers with the Joint Council 25 truck to show the support and strength of the Teamsters union.
“The drivers at Armour-Eckrich stood strong against a fierce anti-union mentality from their employer. We will continue to withstand this sentiment at the bargaining table to secure a Teamster contract that matches the strength of our newest members.”
John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710
The seven-day objection period ended as of last week, and the Labor Board has certified Teamsters Local 710 as the bargaining agent for the Armour-Eckrich drivers. Negotiation preparations are underway and the Local 710 Bargaining Committee will be heading to the negotiating table within the upcoming months.
Teamsters Local 710 is an affiliate of Teamsters Joint Council 25, America’s premier labor union for Chicago, Illinois and northwest Indiana.
