Tiffany Hill, daughter of Teamsters Local 710 member Paul Hill, recently won the 2015-2016 James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship. Tiffany is one of three Local 710 family members to receive the $1,000 scholarship awarded to high school seniors.

Tiffany strives to one day own a consulting agency and rejuvenate urban cities that suffer from economic drought. As such, she can certainly see the value of unions in the community.

Tiffany graduated as her class salutatorian at Southland College Preparatory Charter High School in Richton Park, Ill. with a 4.65 GPA. Tiffany was the President of the National Honor Society and on the Varsity Speech Team, among many other clubs and sports. This fall, Tiffany will attend Washington University in St. Louis with plans to study Business Strategy at the Olin Business School.

“I would like to send our most sincere congratulations to Ms. Hill on behalf of everyone at Local 710,” said John T. Coli, Trustee of Local 710. “It’s fantastic to see a young person so driven and to know that the Teamster ideals demonstrated by her father have made such an impact on her life. It is clear those values will provide a strong foundation on which she will build an undoubtedly successful career.”

Tiffany’s father, Paul Hill, is a dock worker at the ABF Freight facility in Sauk Village, Ill.

Bayleigh White, daughter of Local 710 member David White, and Jacob Van Horn, son of Local 710 member Brent Van Horn, were also awarded this scholarship. The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship fund was established in 1999 to provide scholarships to the children or dependents of Teamster members throughout the International.
